What you need to do first to copy XBOX 360 games is to install a modchip on your XBOX console. Nowadays, you can buy a mod chipped XBOX 360 console so you do not have to worry about installing one yourself. The next thing you do is to download a software program from the Internet to your computer. Once downloaded, all you need to do is to insert the disc you need to copy and then let the software program do its work. Once an image is created, you can burn the disc to your own blank DVD. You must remember that the blank DVDs you have must have enough space to store the data.
Downloading a software program to copy XBOX 360 games is the best solution. It is cheap and very easy to use. The only reason you need a modded XBOX console is because the XBOX might not recognize the copy of the game. Keep in mind that you have to consider the legalities if you want to copy XBOX 360 games. It is not entirely illegal to make your own copies for as long as you only use it for personal reasons. If you start selling, then that is the time you start becoming a technology pirate.

rom just means data, literally it is data that can only be read… (so it’s not necessarily an old super nes game)
There is no way to copy games. Besides it being illegal, your 360 won't be able to read it without a modification to its internal hardware. Such a modification will get your console banned from Xbox Live permanently. If you like playing online through Xbox Live, I'd suggest putting the idea out of your mind, as you'll need to buy a new console if you go through with the modification to play online again.
thanx for this tutorial, one question how do you get the linux os on the xbox(firefox etc)?
thanks

Ok, most of those other answers don't really answer the question. I just finished discovering how to do this and I'll tell you a method. It's not exactly easy, but it is the way to do it.
1. you have to flash the firmware on your xbox 360 so it can play burned games. it won't matter if you copy games if your xbox cant play them. there are many tutorials online for this so just google flashing xbox 360 firmware.
2. its quite difficult to get the data off the game discs and onto a computer because they are so heavily right-protected, use the following link, it helped me a lot

3. buy dvd+r dl (dual-layer) discs from any electronics store (these are the kind of dvds that xbox 360 games come on) and burn the iso file from step 2 onto the disc
all the programs you need can be obtained for free, you might need to spend money on a capable dvd drive and dvds but that's about it
I can guarantee that these steps will be difficult to get just right (you have to do it just right, if you are going to fool microsoft) but with some determination, its manageable.
my friend did this it was pretty cool i wouldnt do it though since its illegal
god I love that Sega CD sound….
aint dat illegal.
my xbox is moded and it is really cool because i have to hold down the power button and then it goes into moded mode but i can still have it normal… and This dude made programing for me so I have a new dashboard and I can play nintendo 64 games and all the older systems even over 4000 arcade games thats right 4000 and 9000 games over all the systems and they are on 2 disks
No you can't. Mod-chip must be installed before you can play the games.
Check here:
"About the downloading and backup and copy games service: There are serveral sites providing such download services. They are very excellent on the contents, not only Complete big XBox360 games like Metroid, LOR, American Idols and Guitar Heroes etc. But also many movies, XBox360 tv shows, music and videos much more!!!
All you need is to join one of those sites to download so many resources. So you can download all those media as you wish!
And some sites can provide simple software help you to burn the ISO Games into DVDs, it is very easy and fast. After the instructions by them, you can go ahead to play those games you burned onto your XBox360.
Maybe a good review site to those download sites might help you very much on judging which is one is the best for you:

hey can you help me please. i’ve got a few emulators in a emulators folder in the xbox s e drive. but i can only open them if i go to the browse folders and go from there. how can i have it so that i can go to emulators in the ‘emulators’ folder in the dashboard??
what a great thing to do would be downloading game copy pro on your computer and putting in the video game after it has been downloaded and let the computer sit a while and write it and then put in a cd+r and let it sit a while. hope this helps
Phil
Do you have the dashboard with the Avatar figures and the 3D slots? Then you can copy the games to HD.
Insert the game, go to "My Xbox", and on the game slot press Y, then choose to install to HD.
Most likely a scam. You cannot copy games due to piracy and illegal reasons. It is also copyrighted. If everyone can copy games, don't you think everyone would have all the games? And wouldn't you think Nintendo,Sony and Microsoft lose money?
It is a scam Because: Copying games is illegal, Piracy Reasons, Copyrighted infringement.
